Crafting Modern Jewelry: From Idea to Heirloom
How to Commission Handmade Jewelry
Not seeing exactly what you want in the shop? Do you have an idea for a custom project? Your perfect piece is just a conversation away. Contact me, and we’ll discuss what you’re looking for, what materials you want to use, and when you need it.
If you want to remodel your engagement ring, wedding ring, or vintage jewelry, we can do that, too. I am happy to recycle the metal and remount gemstones in a new design that fits your style.

How Is the Jewelry Made?
The jewelry I create starts at my bench in my Portland studio. The methods I use depend on the project. Sometimes I begin with a hand-drawn sketch that I recreate in wax and cast in precious metal. Other times I use CAD and 3D printing for finely detailed, organic pieces. Some pieces call for fabrication where I work directly in metal from start to finish.
No matter which direction a project takes me, every piece is filed and finished by hand. I carefully mount each stone to capture its most striking light.
All my designs are made to be worn daily. That means they are sturdy and durable enough for a lifetime of wear.
The finished piece is a modern heirloom you can keep in your family for generations.
What Materials Do You Use?
I use only the highest quality metals in my work: gold, platinum, palladium, and sterling silver, all sustainably sourced. I choose my metals for their color and durability.
For remodeling projects, I recycle the old precious metal with a refiner and credit the payout towards the new design. I cannot use your metal directly.
All of my stones are ethically sourced and selected for their hardness, beauty, and color. I often use diamonds, Canadian diamonds, lab-created diamonds, and reclaimed diamonds, but I also work with moissanite, Montana sapphires, emeralds, tourmaline, and other precious and semi-precious gemstones. I can use just about anything in terms of stones and precious metal, but some materials are better suited for every day wear than others. We can discuss what materials will be best suited for your project and I will be glad to answer any questions you might have.
If you have a favorite stone, I can source some lovely options for your bespoke piece.
How Long Does It Take to Create Custom Modern Jewelry?
Right now, custom orders require right around four weeks to complete and ship. I will try my best to accommodate special occasions sooner than that, but please get in touch as soon as you can (and I do have to charge a fee for express orders).
I give regular updates as your custom piece comes to life. When you’re delighted with the finished result, I’ll ship your piece with care.
Ready-to-ship jewels ship in one to two business days.
